• What are your hopes for 2010?

  A sustained recovery in the economy . My team have risen marvellously to the challenges of 2009, and it would be great to see them reap the rewards of their efforts, sooner rather than later.

• What do you think the reality will be?

  Realistically, I think we’re in for a slow recovery.
  
  

• What good things are there happening in your area this year ?
  There are countless activities and events taking place in the Lake District throughout 2010, for both the energetic and not so energetic!

• Where will your football team finish the season and why?

  As a committed Liverpool supporter, if it’s not in the top four, therefore ruling out Champions League football, I will be bitterly disappointed!
  

• Where would you most like to holiday this year?

  Having spent our summer holiday last year in the UK for the first time in 15 years, we are already booked for this year.
  
  Two weeks on the Greek island of Kefalonia, just outside the pretty town of Fiskardo.
  
  
  

• Who would you be inviting to a cosy supper for 4 at your hotel?
  If it wasn’t my wife and two boys, it would be the cycling legends Lance Armstrong, Miguel Indurain and Eddy Merckx.
  
  
• Which celebrity Chef do you most admire and why?

  Giorgio Locatelli. By far my best ever meal experience was at his restaurant Locanda Locatelli. He just has an honest and no nonsense approach to food and flavours.
  

• What would be your signature dance if you appeared as a celebrity on Strictly Come Dancing?

  I don’t do dancing, much to my wife’s dismay! And can honestly say I’ve never watched an episode of Strictly Come Dancing. I was partial to a bit of air guitar in my teens!
