• Civil weddings
  The North Lakes Hotel, Penrith has been granted a civil licence by Eden District Council.

  Couples wishing to hold their marriage on the premises should note the following points:

  • As soon as provisional arrangements have been made, the couple should notify the Superintendent Registrar at Penrith Registry Office. A fee for the Registrars attendance will be payable by the couple prior to the ceremony.
    
  • The couple will also have to give notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which they live. This notice must be given in person by one of the couple.
    
  • The Superintendent Registrar can only permit a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any music, readings or performances which form any part of the ceremony must be secular (non-religious). The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony.
• Renewing your marriage vows

  
  This is a very personal ceremony for any couple wishing to celebrate their marriage. It might be to celebrate a special anniversary, or an event for family and friends following a marriage abroad.
